Pinot Noir

Technical information

The grapes were harvested by parcel (clone) on flavours and skin ripeness. Each clone was fermented separately in a mixture of traditional oak cuves and stainless-steel vats after undergoing a period of cold soak to enhance colour extraction. Our winemaking style encourages fruit complexity, texture and balance. The wine was matured in French oak barrels, blended and bottled unfiltered.

Vintage 2020

Temperature records show a pretty typical year with no extended or extreme hot spells.  The real story of the growing season is the rainfall and the extended dry period from late December until mid-March. Quality is outstanding, with bright, concentrated flavours in the white varieties and rosé, and remarkable colour, texture and depth of flavour in the Pinot Noir.

Tasting notes

Fruity and nicely complex bouquet with aromas of dark cherry and fruit cake. Roses and sweet baking spice. Complex and beautifully fragrant with dark cherry, cured meat, tar and mixed spice aromas, it's juicy and silky-smooth in the mouth displaying elegant texture and fine-grained tannins.

Food pairing

Great with salmon or game meat such as venison. Dishes like cassoulet or duck with olives, chargrilled steak, and mushroom risotto.
